Türkiye brings together Mediterranean and Aegean beach resorts, historic cities, lively neighbourhoods and very different regional landscapes. Use this guide to compare the country’s main visitor hubs, understand which airport serves each area and continue to detailed guides for cities and resort destinations.

From Antalya’s Mediterranean resorts and Istanbul’s historic neighbourhoods to the bays of Muğla and the Ottoman heritage of Bursa, Türkiye works best when each region is planned on its own. Distances can be significant, so the right airport, accommodation area and onward transport depend on the exact destination.
Türkiye is a large and geographically varied country, so there is no single travel pattern that suits every trip. Antalya and Muğla are major gateways for beach holidays and coastal resorts; Istanbul combines historic monuments, neighbourhood life, museums and Bosphorus transport; Bursa offers Ottoman heritage, thermal traditions and access to Uludağ.
For airport planning, always work from the exact hotel, district or resort rather than the city name alone. A property described as being in Antalya, for example, may actually be in Kemer, Belek, Side or Alanya, each with a very different road journey. The same applies to Istanbul, where European- and Asian-side districts can favour different airport connections.
The destination guides below are designed as travel information pages first. They explain where an area is, how to reach it, what type of stay it suits and which nearby routes are useful. Transfer prices and bookable routes remain connected to the same live TaxicabTransfer pricing network and appear separately where available.

Türkiye’s main visitor regions are served by different airports. Antalya Airport (AYT) is the principal gateway for Antalya city and much of the Turkish Riviera. Istanbul Airport (IST) and Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) serve opposite sides of the Istanbul metropolitan area. Dalaman Airport (DLM) is widely used for Fethiye, Göcek and Marmaris, while Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV) serves Bodrum and the surrounding peninsula.
The most convenient airport is not always the one with the shortest straight-line distance. Flight times, traffic, the side of the city, road conditions and the exact hotel location all affect the total journey. Use the city and destination guides for more specific local context.
